We are hiring Nurse Managers in the Toronto and Peel Regions. The Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) responsible for improving the quality of services to our Clients through Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives while ensuring professional standards (CNO) and Spectrum Health Care policies and procedures are adhered to. As a Nurse Manager You Will: 

  • Lead a team of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses to achieve excellence in Client health care
  • Support the on call program through rotational coverage 
  • Monitor Team performance and activity including quality of care and documentation
  • Key Performance Indicators are reviewed with Regional Manager regularly and used to develop future plans
  • Prepares monthly schedule for nursing field staff, understanding available resources for program/service and keeps quality in the forefront of all resource utilization decisions
  • Motivates directs and coaches staff to ensure high quality of care consistently meets defined organizational standards
  • Responsible for the development and management of staff including facilitating training sessions, conduct performance appraisals of nursing field staff and interviewing, hiring, and orientate new staff
  • Completes Events and Significant Events reports, investigates, analyzes, and conducts disciplinary action as deemed necessary
  • Conducts field visits to community Clients on a need basis and will be responsible for performing clinical nursing duties
  • Leads or assists with the integration of Client satisfaction initiatives; ensure that all referred Client concerns and complaints are satisfactorily addressed and documented in a timely manner


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with progressive leadership responsibilities as a direct supervisor, preferably in a community care setting
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent format
  • Ability to work independently and effectively lead a team
  • Ability to write reports and communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Solid knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of community nursing and service delivery to Patients as well as program development, implementation and evaluation
