Position Summary

We are seeking an Instructor, Personal Support Worker (PSW) program. This role is perfect for a dedicated and knowledgeable individual who is passionate about guiding students to success in their healthcare careers.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Oversee daily operations related to the PSW program, including program quality control and compliance with educational standards.
  • Support and implement administrative functions to enhance the student and faculty experience.
  • Coordinate with other departments to promote and integrate the PSW program within the community and across the college.
  • Supervise the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the curriculum and teaching materials.
  • Provide academic leadership and professional development support to faculty within the program.
  • Ensure that program delivery aligns with NACC competencies and meets Hanson College's high standards of education.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction across various courses within the PSW program.
  • Create a supportive and conducive learning environment for adult learners to thrive academically and professionally.
  • Coach and mentor students, guiding them on career pathways in healthcare.
  • Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently, providing timely and constructive feedback.


What You Will Bring:
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration and no practice restrictions with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in a long-term care, community, or chronic care setting.
  • Proven experience in teaching or training adults in educational or clinical settings, with strong pedagogical skills.
  • Strong self-reliance, excellent workload management, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • A proven track record of handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Good judgment, proactive work ethic, and well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Additional credentials in adult education or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution are preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and group facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum and instructional materials.
  • Interest and experience in multi-modal education approaches are considered an asset.
