  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nursing of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
    2. Recent experience (within 2 years) with a rehabilitation, medical, geriatric or orthopedic patients population
    3. Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    4. Demonstrated knowledge of Rehabilitation nursing
    5. Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary care and a nursing professional practice model
    6. Knowledge of outcome measurement, e.g. Functional Independence Measure
    7. Familiar with a Primary Nursing model of care

    The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the provision of rehabilitative care to patients with a variety of disabilities, and function as a member of a clinical unit comprised of multidisciplinary staff.

    The Musculoskeletal Oncology Rehabilitation unit cares for inpatients with orthopedic, neuro-oncology conditions or complex medical problems. These patients, many of who are geriatric, require a period of rehabilitation prior to discharge from hospital. Patients typically participate in the rehab program between 15 and 21 days, discharge is based on goal attainment..
