The emergency department is an area of nursing practice that requires specialized training. It encompasses the care of both critical and non-critical patients, and provides you with numerous challenging situations, along with many rewards. The emergency department is an exciting and fast paced work environment where you can truly make a difference in the lives of so many people.
Rotation/Shifts
Days and nights, including weekends,12 hour shifts.

- For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change.
- Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Minimum of three (3) months of recent Emergency experience;
- ACLS certification or Emergency/Critical care courses in progress;
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuing education and willingness to actively participate in departmental educational activities;
- Demonstrates a knowledge of the nursing process and the ability to apply this process to the practice of Nursing;
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient teaching;
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care team;
- Demonstrates a professional and respectful attitude to patients, the public and colleagues;
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing;
- Non- violent Crisis Intervention course;
- Post-graduate studies;
- Proficiency in English and French, oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
