The Care Company is looking for awesome, self-driven and highly organized and detail-oriented Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse (RN or RPN) to provide homecare support to complex care paediatric clients. You will play an essential role in providing the day-to-day care these clients need to remain at home.
Shifts
- Day, evening, and overnight shifts available
- Shifts range from 3-12 hours in length
- Someone who can commit to the set schedule mentioned above with no interruptions to set weekly schedule- consistency is required for our clients due to the complexity of their care needs.
Requirements
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse
- Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
- Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
- Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
- Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
- Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
- Correctly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure clients health and well-being
- must be able to commit to a consistent, on-going, weekly schedule of overnight shifts.
Nursing Requirements:
Must have previous complex care with any of the following interventions:
- Tracheostomy Care **there is a high need for trach-trained nurses in this region**
- G, J, and NG tube care
- Ventilators
- BIPAP and CPAP
- Cough Assist
- PICC line care
- Seizure monitoring
- Oral and Nasal suctioning
- Diabetes management
- Oxygenation and monitoring
Other Requirements:
- An asset if you own a vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year
- CNO Registration
- COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
- Having previous Paediatric nursing experience is an asset
- Having previous trach, vent g-tube, suctioning, and oxygen administration/monitoring experience is an asset.
