Job Description:

Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities

Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort

Perform other duties related to personal care

Supply and empty bed pans

Serve meal trays and feed patients

Weigh, lift, turn and position patients

Make beds and maintain patients' rooms

Supervise patients' exercise routines

Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas

Maintain inventory of supplies

Bathe, dress and groom patients

Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher

Answer call signals to determine patients' needs

Collect specimens

Requirements:

Education: Some secondary school education is required.

Experience: A minimum of 7 months of experience as a personal care attendant, support worker or a related occupation is required. On-the job training is provided. If the candidate does not possess the required experience a college certificate in a nursing program is required.

Completion of specialized courses such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid is a strong asset.

Salary: $23.00 per hour, 47.5 hours per week.

Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The worker will be required to work 10-hour shifts. The work schedule includes 2 days on-work, 2 days off-work, and 3 days on-work. Work on weekends, overnights and overtime are required. Work on holidays may be required depending on the business needs. We operate 24 hours a day, and shifts may be scheduled at any time as required by the hospital.
