One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking a compassionate, committed individual who will work in the Thunder Bay Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic. The Rapid Access Addictions Medicine (RAAM) Nurse (RN), as a valuable member of the RAAM and Community Health Centre teams. The RAAM RN is charged with providing addictions care to clients and their families within an interdisciplinary model. The approach to care is strengths-based and rooted in harm reduction and evidence-based practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- RN with current College of Nurses of Ontario registration.
- Minimum 5 years nursing experience.
- Addictions nursing experience required.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work both independently, and collaboratively, within interdisciplinary team environment.
- Perform clinical activities according to the College of Nurses standards for nursing practice.
- Utilizes professional assessment skills to identify physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of clients.
- Knowledge and proficiency in current evidence based practices of primary care delivery, with an emphasis on health promotion and harm reduction.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within individuals who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, non-insured).
- Valid driver's license, access to a vehicle.
