Position Summary
The Manager, PSW Program will be responsible for the overall management and success of the PSW program, including curriculum development, compliance with regulatory standards, faculty supervision, and student support. This role requires an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in healthcare education and a passion for mentoring future healthcare professionals.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the design and implementation of the PSW curriculum, ensuring compliance with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) and National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) guidelines.
- Ensure the program meets all accreditation and regulatory requirements set by the Ministry and other governing bodies.
- Develop program schedules, policies, and procedures to support effective delivery and student success.
- Deliver lectures and facilitate practical training sessions as required.
- Supervise and mentor instructional staff to ensure high-quality teaching and student engagement.
- Assess and evaluate student performance, providing feedback to support their academic and professional growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and program outcomes for compliance audits.
- Recruit, train, and supervise qualified instructors for the PSW program.
- Provide ongoing professional development and support for faculty members.
- Conduct regular evaluations of instructional staff to maintain program quality.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Act as a primary point of contact for student concerns and provide academic guidance as needed.
- Coordinate clinical placements, ensuring students receive hands-on experience in healthcare settings.
- Monitor program performance and outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Stay updated on industry trends, healthcare practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the program remains current and competitive.
What You Will Bring:
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration and no practice restrictions with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in a long-term care, community, or chronic care setting.
- Previous experience working in an educational institution, such as teaching, curriculum development, or program coordination.
- Strong self-reliance, excellent workload management, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- A proven track record of handling confidential information.
- Good judgment, proactive work ethic, and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Additional credentials in adult education or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution are preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and group facilitation skills.
- Interest and experience in multi-modal education approaches are considered an asset.
