The Care Company is looking for an awesome, self-driven Register Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to assist us with a 16-year-old male client in RICHMOND HILL for after-school support.
Shifts
- Someone who can commit to an ongoing, weekly schedule of evening support. Shifts are 3pm-9pm Monday-Friday.
- Family is looking for someone who can join their care team as a long-term partner. Please only apply if you can provide consistent availability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Register Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
- Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
- Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
- Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
- Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
Requirements
Required to have previous experience with:
- G and J tube feeding
- Ceiling lifts
- providing total care
Good to have skills:
- Ventilators
- Bi-pap or C-pap
- Cough assist
- Oxygenation
- Seizure monitoring
- Dementia Care
Other requirements include:
- An asset if you own vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year
- CNO Registration and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Certificate
- COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
