The Care Company is looking for an awesome, self-driven Register Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to assist us with a lovely paediatric home care client in Brampton for ongoing overnight support.
Shifts
- Someone who can commit to an ongoing, weekly schedule of OVERNIGHT shifts (shifts will be weekdays and alternating weekends).
- NO SLEEPING during overnight shifts, you will need to be awake and alert the entire shift.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Register Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
- Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
- Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
- Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
- Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
Requirements
Must have Complex Care experience with the following interventions:
- Tracheostomy
- suctioning (oral, nasal or trach suctioning)
- G and J tube feeding
- Ventilators
- Bi-pap or C-pap
- Cough assist
- Oxygenation
- Seizure monitoring

Other requirements include:
- An asset if you own vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year
- CNO Registration and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Certificate
- COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
