What would my role be?
Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health and Safety Services, you will function as an active member of the Occupational Health and Safety Services team to provide comprehensive occupational health services to the Bruyère and Saint-Louis Residence employees.
Services include:
- Work related accident and illness follow up as well as management of the work re-integration program
- Follow up of non-occupational illness and accidents as well as management of the transitional work program
- Manage accommodation requests as well as return to work plans, development and follow up
- Health care screening, basic first aid and follow up as required
- Communicable disease surveillance and exposure management
- Immunization program
- Initial health assessments and wellness promotion
- Counseling and referral services
How do I qualify?
:
- Certification in Occupational Health
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in an Occupational Health and Safety setting
- Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a registered nurse
- Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement).
Preferred:
- Undergraduate degree in nursing
- Experience in Disability management

- Good leadership and problem-solving skills
- Good decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to take initiative
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety theory
- Knowledge of infection control principles and practices
- Knowledge of rehabilitation theory
- Knowledge of applicable provincial legislation and application
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology
