The Registered Nurse works as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the WLMH Emergency Department (ED). As a member of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse coordinates and evaluates patient care and provides nursing care according to the standards of practice for Registered Nurses. ED nurses work in fast-paced, complex and highly technologically integrated environments. Our ED nurses are set up for success and go through a comprehensive onsite orientation program, led by experienced health care professionals and educators.
Rotating days, evening, nights, weekends and holidays.

- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
- Critical Care Certificate preferred
- Successful completion of recognized Emergency Nursing related courses, dysrhythmia courses and assessment and triage courses preferred
- Demonstrated current knowledge of assessment and management in a broad range of disease processes involving all age groups; critically ill, injured, episodic and non-urgent patients
- Demonstrated current experience in Emergency and Critical Care Nursing in caring for adults and children
- Demonstrated expertise in physical assessment, ECG interpretation, health teaching, clinical decision without a prior diagnosis of emergency presentations in all age groups
- Demonstrated current knowledge of cardiac and respiratory arrest procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency in working with patients, families, peers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in an effective, professional, caring manner
- Demonstrated excellent problem-solving and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills, ongoing professional development
- Ability to perform well in high stress situations
