Pediatric Personal Support Worker (PSW) - Mount Pleasant

Shifts are Monday-Friday 1500-1900 (approximately) and some weekends.
Note: Must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by Health Canada (e.g., two doses of a two dose vaccine series or one dose of a single dose vaccine series); AND have received the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the official start date of hire.
Purpose
As a Pediatric Personal Support Worker with WeeCare, your role is about more than just supporting the medical needs of clients; it's also about providing peace and comfort in their homes. While you are expected to administer medical care according to the client's care plan, we also expect you to serve as a trustworthy extension of the client's family.

Duties
- Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
- Observe and report on changes in child's condition to parent/guardian
- Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring, and adaptive aids
- Demonstrate understanding of child's needs and maximize abilities
- Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child/parent/guardian
- Respond to client/parent/guardian concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken
- Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including child's equipment and belongings
- Notify supervisor of any concerns impacting child's safety
- Complete all other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of a certified Personal Support Worker program
- Experience working with pediatrics
- Current BLS certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check within the past 6 months
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
Schedule
- Sunday-Saturday
- Evening Shift (weekdays)
- Day & Evening Shift (weekends)
