In-Home Assisted Living is hiring PSW's that are compassionate, caring and reliable individuals. As a Personal Support Worker, you will provide care for hospital patients. During your floor duty, you will move between rooms to assist many patients with personal care and assist the nursing staff with nursing care as required. Shifts can be floor duty service or personal observation shifts.

How you will spend your days:
Turning and repositioning patients in bed
Transferring patients to and from bed, bedside commode, washroom, wheelchair, walker and/or stretcher, occasionally transferring patients between units
Assisting patients with changing soiled briefs
Assisting patients with changing soiled gowns and clothing
Assisting patients with dressing and undressing
Assisting patients with dental care
Assisting patients with feeding and drinking when approved by the nurse
Assisting patients with toileting
Changing bed linens
Providing patients with bed baths and/or assisting patients in the shower
Providing patients with companionship and support
Safety monitoring and hands on support while patients are ambulating
Safety monitoring to ensure that patients do not wander away from their bed when it is not safe to do so
Assisting nurses and other hospital staff with bedside care
Other tasks assigned by the unit nursing staff

Success in this role:
Personal Support Worker Certificate required
1 year experience working within a facility or hospital setting is required
Current CPR First Aid Certification
Current police check within 1 year
Ability to work independently, follow directions
Strong communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Training in persuasive gentle approach and or non-violent crisis prevention

Compensation:
$20.00 per hour

Shifts:
D12-7:30 AM-7:30PM
N12 7:30 PM-7:30 AM
Weekday and weekend shifts available
