Description

REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE

This is a continuous posting based on operational need and will be used to create an eligibility list to fill upcoming opportunities within the next twelve months. The number of positions to be filled has not been identified at this time. The positions are casual and temporary.

SALARY
$34.49 per hour
This position is a unionized roles with CUPE Local 905 Long Term Care

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position practices as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Team, under the standards of the College of Nurses, Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, Facility Program Standards and the Centre. Participates and contributes to the assessment of individual residents' needs and the development and evaluation of the plan of care.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful completion of a Practical Nurse Program from a recognized institution and a current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario and practicum experience in a long term care facility or other geriatrics environment.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Checks (PVSC).
• Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications and ability to research on the Internet.
• Good leadership skills and interpersonal and communication skills, including written, to work within a diverse community and ability to deal empathetically with residents, family members, etc., to contribute to their well-being.
• As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Police
Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC), tuberculosis screening and proof of immunization in
accordance with the Long-Term Care Homes Act (O.Reg.79/10).
