One of a network of provincial community health centres, NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and disease prevention programs and services.
We are seeking a compassionate, committed individual who will work as part of the interprofessional care team, the focus will be on providing primary health care services to provide support for preventative and health promotion delivery to the Unattached Children Program.The RN will work collaboratively with other interdisciplinary team members and service providers, as well as with service users. This is a new funded position.
This position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan and a excellent group health benefit package.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Eligible for the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN) that provides $25,000 in grant funding to eligible nurses in exchange for a 2 year commitment. Click here for eligibility criteria.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Two or more years of nursing experience preferred in community settings and/or public health and asset.
- Lactation certification an asset
- Experience in supporting preventative and health promotion primary care for unattached children facing barriers to health and social services.
- Awareness and sensitivity to socio-economic and cultural issues.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, non-insured).
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflict.
- Knowledge of community services and resources; strong advocacy skills.
- Respects and values the diversity of communities and individuals.
- Proficiency in the use of computer technology and various software applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license, access to a vehicle.
