MGH's Critical Care Nursing Resource Team is a new and innovative team established to support the Emergency Department, Cardiac Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit.
This unique position is for Registered Nurses (RNs) looking to grow in their career and expand their knowledge in a highly supportive environment. Join us in the Critical Care Nursing Resource Team as an RN seeking to learn more about Critical Care in a variety of environments within the hospital. MGH is looking for RNs interested to become Critical Care trained; we will support, mentor and help novice nurses build the knowledge, skills and training to work independently in the Emergency Department, Cardiac Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit. This is an incredible opportunity for nurses, from the novices looking to jumpstart their careers, to the experienced interested in growing theircareer and becoming critical care certified.
Education
-Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Registration issued by the CNO.
- Maintains competence relative to current practice.
- Recent experience and evidence of recent related continuing education in medical-surgical nursing an asset.
- Training or education in Critical Care an asset.
- Current BLS required.
- ACLS an asset.
- CNA certification an asset.
Qualifications
- One year experience in an acute medical or surgical care unit preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to care for patients with basic care needs
- Must be willing to participate in critical care related training
- Demonstrated motivation to pursue educational goals. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal,
organizational, leadership and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to implement plan of care including independent and interdependent nursing functions.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in unit quality initiatives and measurements.
- Demonstrated understanding of accountability based practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good work and attendance record required.
- Must be prepared to work in all areas of Medicine Health Service (skills & abilities considered).
