Administrative Full-time Contract Position
(May 13, 2024 - August 15, 2025)
We have an exciting opportunity available for a qualified individual to bring experience and professional credentials as a Nursing Educator and leader. Reporting to the Chair of Nursing Programs, the Program Manager provides a range of leadership functions in support of the planning, development and delivery of full time and part time nursing programs at Conestoga College. The Program Manager also contributes to the development of clinical practice learning expertise, works with internal and external clinical partners on projects and initiatives, and has a direct report relationship with part time clinical instructors and support staff.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department through a hybrid work arrangement with three days on-site, and two days remote.
Responsibilities:

Working with the Nursing Chairs of both full-time and part-time nursing to recruit, hire and schedule part time faculty and support staff to meet needs and within the annual budget
Providing leadership to part-time faculty and staff to ensure curricular quality, consistency and effectiveness by supporting all full-time and part-time clinical and support staff with professional development opportunities related to excellence in clinical learning
Monitoring performance and completing performance appraisals as per College requirements
In collaboration with the Chairs, planning and managing curriculum development and quality improvement projects related to clinical learning in placement and lab within the full-time and continuing education Nursing programs
Developing and maintaining partnerships with clinical delivery partners including Cowan Health Sciences Centre, and Placement Systems, and external partners to support positive relationships, communication, and quality of clinical placements
Partnering with Nursing Placement Department to implement processes for assessing the quality of the clinical learning environments
Supporting clinical partners by participating in the development and delivery of preceptor workshops, including organization and co-delivery with faculty
Maintaining expertise in nursing clinical education, including best practices, standards and guidelines provided by professional nursing bodies
Contributing to program evaluation within the family of nursing programs by organizing, collecting and collating data for Program Chairs in both full-time and continuing education programs
Contributing to, and implementing, College wide quality initiatives within the Nursing Programs

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required; Master's Degree in Nursing or Education, completed or in progress, is preferred
A minimum of five years work experience in a combination of acute care nursing and/or post-secondary education delivery is required
Previous experience in professional practice leadership or clinical nursing education is preferred
Experience with curriculum and program development and review is an asset
Experience in a leadership role managing teams involved with complex projects and demonstrated project management experience is an asset
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution and communications skills
Demonstrated computer skills to include good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across college departments or work independently as required
Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple campus locations
