Advanced Care Medical Centre is currently recruiting highly motivated, detail oriented and patient focused Full Time / Part time RPN.
You will be responsible for working closely with our doctor and assisting our team with clinical visits and patient follow ups. You should be comfortable working in a busy clinic setting, and handling several tasks at the same time.
The role of RPN is to provide day-to-day nursing support to our team of Family Physicians in a fast paced, professional medical office. This would include, but is not limited to:
· Performing appropriate vital signs and testing that is necessary and documenting accordingly
· Triaging patients
· Preparing and administering injections and immunizations
· Monitor and restock medical supplies, vaccines and perform autoclaving of equipment in accordance with public health guidelines
· Cleaning and sterilizing all non-disposable instruments, including speculums
· Cleaning the exam room when a patient leaves in preparation for the next patient.
· Assisting/chaperoning physician with testicular exams, pap tests & well woman exams when needed
· Communicating test results or medical advice from physician to patients
· Greeting patients, answering telephones, booking appointments
· Completing patient registration and referrals as needed
Qualifications/Experience:
· Nursing or Practical Nursing certificate/diploma/degree
· Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
· Current CPR/First Aid certification
· Previous experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) is an asset
Additional Skills/Abilities:
· Team player with strong interpersonal skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Demonstrated ability to effectively manage workload by establishing priorities
· Flexibility and openness to the changing needs of the clinic
· Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional demeanour and work well under pressure
· Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment along with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
· Second language is an asset although not required
Vulnerable sector check will be require prior to start date but not required at the time of application
The successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, including days, evenings (4pm-8pm) and Saturdays.
