Job Title: QA Peer Coach NP (Bilingual)
Job Status: Casual Position
Position Summary
Supports the implementation of CNO’s QA Program which supports nurses’ continuing competence and quality improvement of their practice. Conducts assessments and provides coaching support for nurses participating in the QA Assessment component of the QA Program.
Key Accountabilities
- Assesses the Learning Plans submitted by nurses and their completed QA Assessment activities Conducts on-site practice setting assessments, as required Prepares an objective and comprehensive assessment report for the QA Committee; recommends remedial learning activities, as required; responds to inquiries of QA Committee to clarify information in the report Provides support to nurses through formal feedback and virtual coaching meetings to help with their learning needs and improve their practice Collaborates with College staff to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to the QA Assessment process Provides feedback in the development of QA Assessment activities and tools
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Current registration with CNO and entitled to practice with no restrictions and no history of disciplinary findings A minimum of 5 years work experience as a nurse and 1 year as a Nurse Practitioner; knowledgeable of practice standards and guidelines Bilingual in French and English Ability to interpret and apply practice standards to various practice settings; knowledge of the QA program components and Canadian Nurse Practitioner Core Entry Level Competency Framework Experience with the application of adult education principles usually gained through a combination of education and experience providing education / guidance to nurses Experience in applying coaching techniques and facilitating supportive reflective discussions with colleagues and clients is an asset Experience using Learning Management Systems and/or other technology tools
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Outlook for email and scheduling Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent interview skills Ability to write concise in-depth reports Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to discern relevant information; sound judgement Excellent interpersonal skills including consultative and conflict management skills Ability to interact with College registrants in an objective and professional manner Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters in a diplomatic and timely manner Demonstrated ability to work equally well, either collaboratively as a team member or independently as an individual contributor, with minimal supervision Proven leadership to accomplish goals by organizing and maximizing resources Excellent prioritization and organizational skills; ability to assess and balance conflicting demands and timelines; strong focus on detail and accuracy Demonstrated commitment to own professional development
Hiring Range (per hour): $55.41 - $58.88
Full Salary Range (per hour): $55.41 - $66.49
