Located on the beautiful homeland that is the traditional territory of the Ojibwe, Potawatomi and Odawa First Nations, for over 50 years, Lambton College has been a ground-breaking institution. Lambton College is a national leader in applied research, teaching methodologies, experiential learning opportunities and future-facing educational innovations. At Lambton College, we’re proud of where we have been, but more importantly, where we are going, together. With Caring and Vitality as two of our core values at Lambton College, you know you’ll be joining a team of passionate and fun colleagues.

School of Nursing

Lambton College’s School of Nursing proudly offers programs of Personal Support Worker, Practical Nursing, and all four years of an Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing degree.  Students at Lambton College enjoy the benefit of smaller class sizes and a faculty team dedicated to their learning and growth, thereby giving them a rich and rewarding learning experience. The state-of-the-art nursing simulation labs with high fidelity and with high-tech equipment and simulated patients provide students with face-to-face learning experiences that are truly enjoyable and exceptional.

The new Lambton College Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing Degree program introduces students to clinical practice beginning in the winter of the first year and every term after.  Students will be placed in a variety of clinical experiences where they learn in real-life nursing settings.  They will work with actual patients and provide hands-on care and skills to prepare them for their professional nursing career.

The Position

Lambton College is seeking a full-time professor to teach in its Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Reporting to the Dean of the School of Nursing, the Professor will teach, participate in curriculum development, and conduct research as they relate to the Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing Degree program at Lambton College. The Professor will be responsible for providing academic course leadership and for developing an effective learning environment through designing and delivery of programs and courses; defining and evaluating learning outcomes; developing appropriate teaching and learning environments that support student success; and developing/selecting appropriate learning materials. You will also be expected to support student learning and progress, create assessments, rubrics, and evaluate student achievement.

The Professor will actively participate in developing and modifying curriculum, participate on various committees, employ best practices from across the college system, and maintain professional competency and Nursing knowledge as essential components of this position. They will work collaboratively to ensure excellence in undergraduate teaching, quality program delivery and exemplary student experiences. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to engage in research and scholarly activities related to Health Sciences and teaching theoretical nursing concepts, and to participate in the experiential learning lab on the College campus and clinical courses in a variety of healthcare settings. Program promotion and student recruitment are essential areas of responsibility for faculty members within the School of Nursing team.

As the ideal candidate, you will have, or be in the process of obtaining, a Doctorate degree (DN/PhD/ABD) in Nursing. You will have maintained a current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and will have five (5) years of recent clinical and teaching experience, preferably in acute care, long-term care, or community care. Experience with curriculum design/development would be considered an asset, as well as experience teaching and/or training utilizing adult learning principles and teaching/assessment methodologies. You will effectively model Lambton’s core values in teaching and research and have demonstrated evidence of scholarly activity, such as publications, conference presentations, and research projects.
