Respite Services

Permanent Full Time Position

Brampton Site

Work Arrangement: On-site

      37.5 Hours/Week

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Project Manager-Respite Services, the Clinical Services Supervisor (CSS) is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of respite services at the Brampton site. The CSS will provide leadership to a team of clinicians that includes recruitment, onboarding, communication and ongoing performance management of staff, managing referrals for service, caseload management and problem solving. As part of the larger Respite team, the CSS will collaborate with other leaders to work towards seamless service for clients.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day-to-day supervision of the respite team and delivery of respite services at assigned site;
  • Organize caseloads, staff schedules to meet site needs;
  • Promote an integrated service delivery model;
  • Identify staff complement needs in conjunction with the Project Manager and Human Resources;
  • Participate in the recruitment, on-boarding, staff orientation and communicating performance expectations for new staff;
  • Maximize the use of available resources (staffing and space);
  • Provide performance management, including probationary and performance reviews, and support to team members, engaging Human Resources as appropriate;
  • Facilitate resolutions to service delivery issues involving clients, families and staff using a solution-focused approach
  • Monitor operational/clinical activities to ensure performance objectives are met;
  • Interface with Clinical Administrative Support Services (CLASS) to facilitate operational processes related to intake, service facilitation and health records;
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to meet Balanced Scorecard targets;
  • Identify and support professional development and clinical education needs
  • Ensure team compliance with all relevant policies and procedures including those related to privacy, documentation, health and safety and infection control;
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned and identified by the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree required;
  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required;
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working with medically complex children and/or young adults and their families;
  • Experience supervising and leading a team is an asset;
  • Working knowledge of respite supports and services for medically and behaviourally complex children is a strong asset;
  • Experience with CYFSA licensing is an asset;
  • Proven potential to motivate and lead people;
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills;
  • Excellent facilitation and problem solving skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Flexible, organized and self-directed within scope of responsibility;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task;
  • Sound understanding of documentation standards;
  • Ability to function collaboratively within an inter-professional team;
  • Ability to negotiate and portray a positive image of the organization
  • Demonstrated awareness of and adherence to professional and ethical standards;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
  • Experience with Meditech platform an asset
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.

*You must also possess a valid Ontario driver’s license, and have access to a personal vehicle.
