Personal Support Worker: Sutton, Ontario

Home Care Assistance is hiring a personal support worker to start at a facility in Sutton. It is for one-to-one care for a single resident. Shift times and dates are flexible. We have full time and part time hours available.

Your typical day:

• Assist with one-on-one support for elderly resident
• Keep resident engaged and safe
• Assist at mealtimes
• All other tasks required by the care plan
• A passion for the job in helping others
• Companionship and friendship
• Engage in ROM exercise and mobility activities. Example: going for walks, folding clothing together and exercise programs...
• Connect with cognitive engagement to keep the client mentally stimulated. Example: puzzles, games, skill building and social engagement...

Must haves:

• Must be mentally strong and able to handle behaviors and dementia
• Access to reliable transportation G License and valid insurance (is an asset)
• Demonstrated working experience with the elderly, knowledgeable with respect to their needs
• Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with residents, families, and visitors
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Proof of valid Covid19 vaccines
