Department: Mental Health Rehabilitation

Site: St. Joseph's Hospital - East Wing Level 1

Shifts: Days/Nights including weekends

Rate of Pay: $30.86 - $31.26 per hour

Qualifications:

Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
Mental health experience required
Knowledge of psychiatric illnesses/diagnosis, treatment, relevant legislation (MHA, HCCA, OH&S, PHIPA), PSR/recovery, understanding of least restraint and safety devices, and evidence-based practices related to serious mental illness
Knowledge of nursing practice standards and practice guidelines
Skills in nursing assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation
Advanced skills in communication; therapeutic, interpersonal and written
Ability to build professional nurse-client relationships
Advanced critical thinking skills including problem solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and an interprofessional team
Ability to prioritize and organize workload efficiently and effectively
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position
Demonstrated regular attendance at work is required

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
