EMPLOYEMENT OPPORTUNITY - ST. FRANCIS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

 

RURAL NURSING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES for REGISTERED NURSES

                  (Temporary Full Time, Permanent PT, and casual)

 

Located in Barry’s Bay, St. Francis Memorial Hospital is offering Registered Nurse positions in the Rural Nursing Specialty.  If you are someone who enjoys variety in their work, problem solving and leadership these roles are a fit.  Join our dynamic team and contribute to the health, wellness, and recovery of patients and families of diverse populations.  Our small (20 bed) hospital, which has been awarded “Accredited with Exemplary Standing”, offers both medical/post-surgical in-patient care, emergency care, palliative care and outpatient clinics including Cardiac Rehab, Diabetes, Telemedicine, Wound care, and Foot care.  A full range of diagnostic and laboratory services are available on site to support care needs. 

 

Qualified applicants must have a current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario and well developed interpersonal and communication skills (Emergency positions require additional qualifications such as ACLS & PALS) and be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

St. Francis Memorial Hospital is a 20 bed, fully accredited facility, offering medical, and complex continuing care. Special in‐patient services include palliative care, diabetes clinic, telemedicine and Cardiac Rehabilitation. A two bed Hospice is directly down the hall from our inpatient unit. The hospital has an extensive ambulatory care program with over 10,000 emergency visits per year. A 6‐ station satellite hemodialysis unit is located at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Barry’s Bay.

 

SFMH offers comprehensive in-patient, out-patient and telehealth clinics in addition to regional programs such as Addiction Treatment, Diabetes Education, Hemodialysis & Nephrology and Ontario Breast Screening. There is full diagnostic support within the hospital including staff radiologists providing radiological, ultrasound, bone density and mammography support. The hospital is located in the village of Barry’s Bay and serves a catchment of approximately 10,000 population dispersed over a large geographic area.

 

In 2019, SFMH implemented a new state of the art electronic health information system in collaboration with five regional partners including The Ottawa Hospital, Hawkesbury and District General Hospital, Renfrew Victoria Hospital and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, as well as the Ottawa Hospital Academic Family Health Team. As part of the health information system, each health partner has real-time access to patient medical information allowing health-care providers to make timely, informed decisions based on the most comprehensive, and connected information. SFMH shares Senior Leadership/Administrative roles with Renfrew Victoria Hospital (RVH). RVH has been designated as Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) by RNAO and through this SFMH and through these collaborations and integration efforts SFMH also remains on the leading edge of practice. Together, we have implemented many Best Practice Initiatives. We welcome new graduates to our hospital and provide a comprehensive orientation and mentorship.
