Nurse Educator - Woman and Children Program
Permanent Full Time
The Nurse Educator is responsible for leading the assessment, implementation, planning, evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge and skills to practice. The Educator elevates practice and supports strategic initiatives at Mackenzie Health. This position supports the Woman and Child and Corporate Initiatives.
Contribute to safe, quality care by

- Exercising sound professional judgment and using best practice guidelines.
- Education of staff in Neonatal Resuscitation, Breastfeeding, Scrubbing and Circulating for Caesarean deliveries and Fetal Health Surveillance.
- Contributing to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
- Leading orientation and education for the Birthing Unit and Mother Baby Unit.
- Designing ongoing education programs to keep staff updated on evidence-based practice, competencies and certifications.
What must you have?
- Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, preparation at the Masters Level is preferred.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider course.
- Fetal Health Surveillance Monitoring Certification.
