Nurse Clinician - Educator

This position will have specific responsibility with the 6 West at Hamilton General Hospital and the Post Anesthetic Care Unit at McMaster Children's Hospital and McMaster University Medical Centre. The Nurse Clinician will work as part of an education resource team also supporting central education programs.

Qualifications - Internal

Baccalaureate level Nursing degree, Masters preferred

Current Certificate as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario

About 3-5 years recent experience in acute post-surgical care related to orthopedics and spine.

Pediatric/Adult Critical Care Certificate or equivalent

Minimum 3 years of recent (within the last 2 years) experience in pediatric/adult critical care

Recent (1 year) experience in adult education

Demonstrated knowledge and proficiencies in spinal cord care and best practices related to the care of spinal cord patients.

Demonstrated experience as a preceptor of staff and/or students

Demonstrated proficiency in the mentoring and development of new staff

Demonstrated experience in evaluation of learning activities specific to individual and organizational performance

Evidence of ability to develop, conduct and evaluate educational programs to learners from a variety of health care disciplines

Demonstrated competencies in team building, organizational skills, leadership and presenting/managing change in a positive manner

Experience in evaluation of learning activities specific to individual and organizational performance

ACLS/PALS certification required.

CNA certification Adult/Pediatric Critical Care preferred
