The OpportunityWe are looking for full or part time primary care nurse practitioners. You will provide general and preventative care, conduct check-ups, treat illnesses, order lab tests, and prescribe medication for children and adults. You'll help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations.

Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate based on education and experience.

What You'll Do
  • Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patients' age-specific needs.
  • Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.
  • Assists with the provision of surgical care in accordance with facility, provincial, and federal regulations. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  • Facilitates staff, patient, and family decision-making by providing educational tools.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

What We're Looking For
  • Graduate of a four-year Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
  • Successful completion of a master's program
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Professional Liability Insurance
  • 1-2 years experience in the Nurse Practitioner role preferred. However recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Current First aid and CPR certification
  • Demonstrated empathy, communication, critical thinking, conflict resolution, problem recognition, and resolution skill
  • Provide medical advice to patients and/or their families
  • Make evidence-based medical decisions
  • Advocate patient care
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork
