JOB POSTING # 916128 Position: ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSE EDUCATOR Site: University Health Network - Toronto General Hospital Department: Practice Based Education, Operating Room (TG/PM) Grade: F0:04 Salary: $86,783.00 - $108,479.00 per annum (Commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN Compensation Policy) Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week Status: Permanent Full-time University Health Network (UHN) Collaborative Academic Practice is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Advanced Practice Nurse Educator in our Collaborative Academic Practice portfolio. Reporting to the Manager of Professional Practice, the Advanced Practice Nurse Educator (APNE) is an integral member of the interdisciplinary leadership team and demonstrates a set of core competencies fundamental to developing and maintaining the academic practice environment at UHN. The APNE is a member of Operating Room's interprofessional leadership team, and demonstrates a set of core competencies fundamental to developing and maintaining the academic practice environment at UHN. The competencies focus on education and staff development, interprofessional collaboration, scholarly/research activity, and leadership/change management. The APNE uses best practice in education to assess learning needs, develop, design, deliver and evaluate educational programs. The APNE collaborates with others to promote enhanced development and delivery of quality nursing education internally and externally. The APNE contributes to the scholarship of teaching, discovery, application and integration of knowledge through research and scholarly work. The APNE leads in the creation of a preferred future for nursing education and professional practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Current certificate of licensure/registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario - Completion of a Masters degree required - Three (3) to Five (5) years recent Nursing experience in an Operating Room - Certification in Perioperative Nursing preferred - Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification - Experience in nursing education an asset - Membership in the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC) and the Assocation of Peri Operative Registered Nurses (AORN) and other organizations relevant to the role, preferred - Theoretical and practical experience in adult education including learning needs assessment, educational program planning, development, and evaluation - Ability to be adaptable, build trust, provide coaching and collaboration, facilitate change and promote continuous improvement - Excellent leadership, time management, presentation skills - Ability to be adaptable, build trust, provide coaching and collaboration, facilitate change and promote continuous improvement - Demonstrate ability to motivate staff and create an environment conducive to learning and team building - Able to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team - Able to use information technology - Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code Posting Date: March 15, 2023 Posted until: filled If you are interested in making a contribution at UHN, please apply on-line.
