The Emergency Department is a recently renovated space that has designated areas for ambulatory, subacute and acute care. Due to the diverse nature of patients seen, nurses have the opportunity to develop their nursing skills in a highly acute and challenging setting and use a wide variety of clinical skills including critical thinking. Direct links with other EMS personnel as well as hospital and community services promotes and fosters an atmosphere of teamwork. Qualifications:

- Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario - Completion of a Physical Assessment Course - Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification - 1 to 2 years medical/surgical experience - Evidence of continuing education in Emergency and /or critical care nursing - Excellent interpersonal and decision making skills - B. Sc. N. preferred - Emergency and Critical Care experience preferred - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.) certification preferred - Certificate in Emergency preferred - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (P.A.L.S.) certification preferred Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
