#Nowhirng, Belcan is currently searching for an occupational health nurse for our client in the aerospace industry in Oakville Ontario. It is a 6-12 month renewable contract for the afternoon shift.
You will be reporting to the senior manager, environmental health & safety.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete and/or coordinate various workplace testing programs including but not limited to Respirator Fit testing, Hep B vaccination, Chest X-Rays, Audiometric testing and Workplace Medical Surveillance
- Manage WSIB claims, modified work plans, worker rehabilitation and related correspondence for both Occupational and Non-Occupational events.
- Assist departments with implementing and evaluating return to work options for workers requiring modifications.
- Collaborates with site leadership and key partners (EHS, HR, Benefits dept.) to ensure appropriate site occupational and wellbeing programs are in place to align with business objectives, mitigate risks and promote employee wellbeing.
- Act as the main point of contact for all workplace injuries
- Co-lead Wellness Committee and Crisis Management Committee.
- Provide Wellness initiatives including quarterly health related workshops and clinics
- Assess health related training needs and implement relevant training programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree/college diploma in Nursing/Occupational Health Nursing
- Candidates must be a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and must have current First Aid and CPR certification
- 3-5 years" experience in an industrial occupational health setting
- Strong computer skills
- Demonstrated ability and experience developing and presenting training programs
