Job Purpose and Impact

The Occupational Health Nurse (2nd shift) will perform occupational health care activities. In this role, you will provide health and wellness training and education, employee health services and compliance. You will be licensed to practice in your province of employment.

Key Accountabilities
  • Using technical knowledge and training, assist in designing and executing employee health and wellness programs.
  • Conduct training and administer surveillance testing for stablish compliance programs
  • Treat, evaluate and assess employee illness or injury and determine medical direction.
  • Develop, formulate and implement plans of care based on stand order and medical directives.
  • Help determine what employees can do under restrictive duty, when they can return to work and when to refer them to an outside medical provider.
  • Creating, maintaining and supporting record keeping in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Registered Nurse or equivalent in other geographies
  • Advanced health care provider CPR certification
  • Understanding of safety and ergonomics
  • Occupational nurse experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Able to cover day shift as required
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in unionized environment
  • Knowledge or experience dealing with injuries and illness in manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and reporting responsibilities in an occupational nurse role
  • Administrative experience
  • Able to create and execute wellness education and training programs
