Site: Lodge on Dawson
Shifts: Days/Nights including weekends (12 hour rotation)
Rate of Pay: $30.53 - $30.92
per hour
The Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for clinical services to clients residing at St. Joseph's Care Group under the Home for Good Provincial Housing Initiative partnership located on Dawson Road. This position works in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment teams. The RPN will provide ongoing, non-judgemental clinical support and treatment to marginalized individuals struggling with mental health, addictions and homelessness.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Experience working in addictions/mental health treatment as a member of a multidisciplinary team is required
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of concurrent disorders and associated treatment modalities
Knowledge, skills and experience in assessment, treatment and rehabilitiation, crisis management, advocacy and principles of psychosocial rehab
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication (verbal, non-verbal, written) and interpersonal skills
Ability to establish effective working relationships, working collaboratively with registered nurses and an interprofessional team
Ability to work independently, interdependently, and participate as a contributing member of a team to meet program goals and objectives
Advanced critical thinking skills, inlcuding problem-solving and decision-making activtities
Abiity to prioritize and organize workload effeciently and accurately
Demonstrated regular attendance at work
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certificates
Valid Class G driver's license and adequate insurance
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
