RESPONSIBILITIES:
WE ARE LOOKING FOR EVENING, NIGHT, AND WEEKEND SHIFT AVAILABILITY
Participates actively in the Continuous Quality Improvement Program
Understands and ensures delivery of resident care is in accordance with the Standards of the College of Nurses, the Long Term Care Act and Regulations governing Inspection Protocols and Best Practice Guidelines.
Fully comprehends and applies critical thinking to the nursing process regarding assessment, care planning and supportive documentation.
Develop an individualized resident care plan and incorporate a collaborative interdisciplinary approach in this process, using RAI-MDS and Point Click Care
Well developed clinical skills in providing direct resident care
Assists the charge nurse with respect to delegation of tasks to staff, emergency response, conflict resolution and management of the nursing unit. May be required to assume charge nurse role.
Assists the charge nurse in planning and organizing care conferences and physician visits
Actively participates in Risk Management and associated committees (falls, wounds, restraints, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
Maintains own competency through reflective practice, ongoing learning and professional development
Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in long term care
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of RAI-MDS and computer literacy is essential
Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
Superb organizational planning, time management and multi-tasking skills
Current CPR certification - HCP Level and Mask Fit tested
Demonstrates leadership ability
Proven integrity through open and honest interactions with colleagues and encouraging teamwork; understands roles, sets expectations and share information
Must have knowledge with MOHLTC Acts and Regulations and have experience working in LTC for 2 years.
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Salary: $30.59-$46.28 per hour
