Job Summary
As a leader of the Inpatient Medicine team, this role is responsible and accountable for the coordination and direction of all patient care and staffing related activities within the area.
This role advances professional practice and the practice of other inter-professional team members as appropriate through leadership, learning and development, integration of research, education and practice, critical thinking inquiry and analysis.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses (CNO) as a Registered Nurse. BScN preferred.
- Current BCLS, ACLS required. Completion of NVCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or MOAB training or equivalent. Certificate in Gentle Persuasive approach.
- Minimum of 3 years of Med Surg experience.
- Minimum of 2 years recent (with the last 5 years) progressive leadership experience.
- Understanding of Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) requirements.
- Participated in program development and evaluation, project management and change management.

- Demonstrated leadership experience including coordinating staff and facilitating change.
- Demonstrated excellent assessment and clinical skills along with leadership capabilities with a focus on collaborative teamwork, patient flow and quality improvements.
- Demonstrated evidence-based decision making, critical thinking and problem solving.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to function both independently and as an inter-professional team member in a fast paced demanding environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and public relations skills.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients, family and staff.
- Proficient with CCIM and OMNI.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office (Word and Excel).
- Demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion
