Days, 8 hour shifts.
What you will do
The Nursing Informatics Coordinator provides support, advice and guidance regarding nursing professional practice and education. Responsibilities include:
Act as the liaison/designated expert on all Epic (electronic health record) matters for all nursing areas including but not limited to inpatient units, ambulatory care areas, emergency department and surgical areas.
Function as a knowledgeable practitioner, and as a consultant, educator, and evaluator to maintain and improve system services of Epic for nurses at TOH.
Provide support, advice, consultation, and guidance regarding nursing professional practice matters as they related to Epic for maximum use and efficiency of the system.
Ensure all documentation and workflows meet College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Standards of Practice.
Collaborate with TOH stakeholders and regional partners stakeholders for nursing Epic decisions, changes, problem solving, workflows and build.
Provide communication to nurses regarding Epic functionality.
Provide advice and consultation on nursing practice issues as identified by clinical nurses, managers, directors, chief nurse executive.
Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate nursing education and professional development initiatives.
What you will bring
Master's Degree or master's post graduate certificate
Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Five (5) years of clinical experience, demonstrating progressive leadership
Five (5) years in health management, professional practice, research or education
Detailed understanding and working knowledge of Epic
Experience in project/program management
In-depth knowledge of the regulatory framework for nurses in Ontario and the application of CNO Standards of Practice
Knowledge of quality improvement tools and methods
Knowledge of change management and adult education principle
Organizational, time management and planning skills
Troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to anticipate and creatively respond to changing priorities and unforeseen opportunities.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, including the ability to lead and facilitate change
Facilitation, collaboration, and coaching skills.
You will stand out with:
Epic certificate (Analyst, Principal Trainer);
Nursing informatics degree/certificate.
