Position: Registered Nurse

Department: Inpatient Medicine - 6C Oncology

Status: Permanent Part-time (must provide availability of up to a 0.6 FTE)

Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating 8 and 12 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)

This is what you'll be doing:

6C Oncology is a 36 bed medicine unit. We provide exemplary patient and family centered care to patients with both an oncology diagnosis and other patients with general medicine diagnoses. We have a multi-disciplinary team including physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, dietitian and discharge planner who collaborate to provide safe, high quality care in a timely fashion to our patient population

This is what you'll need to do it:

  • Must be certified in chemo and biotherapy administration or a commitment to complete within 8 months, eligible for tuition reimbursement
  • Ability to manage a variety of patients conditions across the life span
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS Certification required at time of hire.
  • Recent acute care experience required.
  • Strong patient assessment skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with strong public relations and organizational skills.
  • Caring attitude with patients, families and co-workers.
  • Must be physically able to do the job that involves heavy lifting and intensive physical effort.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuing education.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record.

The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

Salary: $34.24 to $49.01 per hour
