ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
The John Noble Home (JNH) is a "Class A" facility and has a proud and long-standing care-giving tradition, dating back to 1881. Today, we offer several different quality programs devoted to senior housing, care, and services that operate within our care campus. All meet and serve the needs of both Brant County and the City of Brantford and their respective constituents as we are a municipally operated and governed facility. The John Noble Home consists of 156 long term care beds with planned expansion, a community-based day & stay program and senior's apartments.

POSITION SUMMARY (detailed job description available upon request)
Reporting to the Director of Care and working in conjunction with the Medical Director of the John Noble Home, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) demonstrates a commitment to the quality of resident care by providing services in accordance with the organization's vision, mission and values.
The NP is responsible, accountable and has the authority to independently perform additional controlled acts as outlined in the College of Nurses of Ontario Practice Standards for Nurse Practitioners. The NP works to his/her full legislated scope of practice while participating within the interdisciplinary team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the residents' plan of care. The incumbent may have opportunities on behalf of the Home to participate in the development and implementation of integrated models of geriatric care in collaboration with community partners.

The ideal candidate will possess a Nurse Practitioner Primary Health Care specialty certificate (NP-PHC). Must also have current registration as a NP with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Post graduate education/experience in gerontology is considered an asset. Preference given to candidates with 2 years' experience working as a NP and to those who have experience in a long-term care environment.

The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience with strategic planning, report writing and high-quality human relations skills. The NP fosters effective interpersonal relationships between residents, families, and other interdisciplinary health team members.

As a condition of employment, candidates must submit a current Vulnerable Sector Check (dated within the last 6 months) from their local police service before employment can begin. Applicants must also provide proof of a negative result from a 2-Step TB Skin test (dated within 6 months) before employment can begin. Applicants may be required to participate in a skills assessment process.

SALARY RANGE: Starting at $51.01 per hour (based on a 37 ½ hour work week) plus 14% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation. Potential for extension of contract and other growth opportunities.
