Following organizations policies and procedures
· Adhering to the MOLTCH legislations and regulations
· Follow the residents plan of care as identified by families and the health care team
· Assist with residents' admission, transfer and discharge process
· Treat residents with compassion, respect, dignity and sensitivity
· Advocate for resident care needs and services
· Provide and maintain a safe and risk-free environment that is clean and engaging
· Ensue residents' belongings are maintained clean and functional
· Provide personal care needs (bathing, dressing, feeding, transporting, nail care, footcare, haircare, mouthcare)
· Report all changes in resident condition immediately to registered staff
· Provide and assist resident with oral, mobilization, skin and activities of daily living supports
· Ability to reposition residents, performs lifts and transfers with appropriate equipment
· Provide resident with social, phycological, emotional and cognitive supports
· Provide documentation based on organization policy regarding work/care performed
· Participate in all mandatory, daily and ongoing education and training
· Maintain confidentially at all times
· Ensure adherence to ethical practices, organizations mission and values and the code of conduct as well as the college of nurse standards for unregulated care providers (UCP)
· Depending or work facility will perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, household chores, meal preparation etc.)
· Follow all infection control practices
Job Requirements:
Vulnerable Sector Check (with criminal background check)
· PSW certificate (graduated from a recognize PSW program)
· Fitness Statement
· Covid Vaccine
· Experience working with the elderly
· Experience working with elderly with responsive behaviors or cognitive impairments
· Ability to work as a team and to follow direction
· Able to multi task, organize and manage daily task with multiple residents
Language:
· English
· Bilingual
Experience:
· Minimum 1-2 years' experience and willing to be trained
Work Setting:
· Long Term Care homes
· Hospital Settings
· Individuals home settings
· Group homes
Transportation/Travel Information
· Own vehicle
· Valid driver's license
