Summary:

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and a Registered Nurse (RN) with Bloomsdale, you will be responsible for providing exceptional personal care to our patients all over Ontario (Specifically around major cities like Pickering, Ottawa, London, St. Catherine's, Thunder Bay, and Owen Sound). As a PSW with us, you will have an opportunity to provide exceptional care to enrich the lives of patients on a daily basis.

Responsibilities of these positions may include but are not limited to:
  • Providing personal care, hygiene, and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, skin care, feeding, etc).
  • Adhere to the safe work/risk management policies and procedures of Bloomsdale Health Services.
  • Work within the Ethical Practice Framework of Bloomsdale Health Services.
  • Understands the range of services provided by each division of the Bloomsdale family and how it contributes to our model.
  • Continually assesses, identifies and responds to new and changing needs of patients and communicates plan of action to patients when appropriate.
  • Document records and reports of daily care: resident incident reports, restraint monitoring records medication administration records, etc.
  • Assist in organizing leisure activities while facilitating the integration and inclusion of the community.
  • Clean, sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
  • Performing any other delegated tasks facilitated by regulated health professionals in compliance with the Bloomsdale Health Services contract.

Registered Nurse

Qualifications:
  • All Registered Nurses must have a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and be a member in good standing
  • A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration
  • Must possess good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends

Requirements:
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care to meet the resident's holistic needs and promoting and respecting the Resident Bill of Rights
  • Ensure resident plan of care is established and implemented in accordance with policy and that the care plan is developed and implemented in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary care team
  • Assess and reassess the resident health status and communicate resident care needs and changes in resident status to key resident contacts
  • Provides input into the discharge planning, consideration for admission and or transfer of residents into or out of the unit
  • Encourages active participation by residents in therapy programs and recreational activities
  • Liaise with physicians and other internal and external members of the health care team to ensure resident care needs are met
  • Assigns unit staff according to policy and care needs of the residents
  • Ensures routines and schedules of the unit are adhered to by all nursing unit staff to ensure the smooth running of the unit
  • Serves as a resource person for other nursing staff in identifying and solving nursing or resident care problems
  • Delegate clinical responsibilities to qualified staff in accordance with policy and CNO standards of practice
  • As a supervisor, ensure that all work performed is conducted in a safe manner in accordance with policy and procedure including established Occupational Health and Safety procedures

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: Starting From $60.00 per hour

  • On call
  • Weekend availability
