We are currently looking for a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) OR Personal Support Worker (to be trained as a PTA) for a Long Term Care client in Maxville, Ontario. Working under the direct or indirect supervision of the Physiotherapist, our assistants will work in close contact with residents to help them implement treatment programs and achieve the goals set out for them.

Job Duties:
- Assist with conducting group exercises for residents, and/or lead one-on-one exercises with the assigned resident as directed by the Physiotherapist.
- Encourage residents to reach the goals of their planned treatment programs if appropriate.
- Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist's instructions.
- Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring.
- Monitor any changes to a resident's health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
- Perform treatments such as applying an ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax, etc.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant OR Personal Support Worker graduate or equivalent.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to communicate well with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates.
- Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home would be a definite asset.
- Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
- Valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
