Home Care Assistance is looking for Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to become a part of our team and join our mission of Changing the Way the World Ages.

The ideal candidate should be one who can provide mental and social stimulation to our mostly elderly or senior clients, in addition to be able to fulfil technical RPN duties

RPNs in Etobicoke, Toronto surrounding regions

THE OPPORTUNITY

The RPN will be responsible for serving the health and wellness needs of our clients within the full scope of practice and following Company policies and procedures and legislated standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Manage and document medications as prescribed; monitoring and maintaining the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
  • Maintain resident records and required documentation following the College of Nurses standards, legislative requirements and Company policies and procedures
  • Liaison with family members as a resource for questions or concerns regarding practices or related healthcare issues
  • Maintains effective communication and good interpersonal relations with medical and allied staff, residents, families and other departments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
  • Walking, stretching and standing on a variety of surfaces for at least 4 hrs. per day
  • Lift alone up to 50 pounds
  • Pushing, and pulling wheeled equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, stooping regularly
  • Climbing stairs and able to work in confined spaces

WHO YOU ARE
  • Demonstrate solid nursing skills as per the College of Nurses standards of practice
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively within the team, with residents, families as well as external service resources
  • Organizational and leadership skills
  • Experienced in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills

Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Valid First Aid / CPR certification (Level-C)
  • Must have RN/RPN Certification from a recognized
    college or university
  • Clear Criminal Reference Check
  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
  • Government ID
  • Minimum 2 professional references
  • 2 Step TB test
  • Immunization Records

Working conditions:Position: Days, Evenings, Overnights, Weekends Status: Full and part-time
