Shift: 12 hour shifts, Days/Evenings/Nights/Weekends

Summary:

In partnership with Health Force Ontario, Grand River Hospital through Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN) provides a $25,000 incentive to eligible nurses in exchange for a 24-month employment commitment to Grand River Hospital.

To be eligible for the CCPN, a nurse must:

  • Not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six (6) months prior to being hired;
  • Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Begin employment no later than March 31, 2024
  • Commit to 24-months of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by the employer; and
  • Not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses
  • Match with an employer on the CCPN portal
  • Some restrictions apply. Grand River Hospital reserves the right to determine eligibility based on available positions.


Qualifications:

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum of one-year current nursing experience to include:
  • Blood and Blood Products Administration
  • Urinary and Gastric Catheter Insertion
  • Glucose Point of Care Testing
  • Management of Patients with Intravenous Therapy
Minimum of one-year experience in an Emergency/Critical Care Setting and who demonstrates competency in:
  • Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation (Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Course)
  • Venipuncture to initiate IV Therapy
  • Advanced IV Medication Administration to include direct IV Administration and Special IV Infusions such as Inotropes
  • Application of Energy to include Defibrillation and Transthoracic Pacing
Successfully completed one or more of the following certificate programs/courses:
  • PALS
  • ACLS
  • TNCC/ATLS
  • Triage
  • Physical Assessment
  • Cardiac Arrhythmia
BCLS required
