The successful candidate (s) will be responsible for assessing, planning implementation and evaluating nursing care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family centered care environment. You will provide care to a diverse patient population across a broad spectrum of medical disciplines including but not limited to Paediatrics, Cardiology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Trauma, General Medicine, Surgery and Psychiatry within both the ED and ICU departments. Equal time will be employed within the ICU and Emergency settings applying your select knowledge and skills.

Requirements:
• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
• Minimum of (2) year′s recent medical/surgical/emergency clinical work experience
• Must have or be willing to complete the following required certifications and education: ACLS, PALS/ENPC and ENA on-line learning modules within the first 6 months of hire
• Must have a Critical Care from a recognized institution or be willing to complete a Critical Care Certificate (SHN Sponsored).
• Competent to perform CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level
• Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community
• Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound clinical judgement
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position
• Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN′s comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in these areas
• Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public
• Exposure to Lean principles, with an understanding of related methodologies and tools and a commitment to the use of these in support of providing the best healthcare experience possible to our patients
• Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work record
