The Nurse Educator is responsible for leading the assessment, implementation, planning, evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge and skills to practice. The Educator elevates practice and supports strategic initiatives at Mackenzie Health. This position supports the Emergency department and Corporate Initiatives.

What must you have?
- Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider course.

- In partnership with clinical leadership, plans, develops, implements and evaluates programs to meet the educational needs of nursing staff as well as other members of the clinical team.
- Uses and applies adult learning principles in teaching and learning opportunities.
- Demonstrates advanced clinical assessment skills.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and writing skills in order to successfully present and facilitate with a wide variety of audiences.
- Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to achieve outcomes through programs delivered to individuals and groups.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and as a member of an interprofessional team.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work in a continuously changing environment.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively identify need and facilitate practice related change.
- Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
- Proven attendance record.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.

Preferably, your profile also includes:
- NICU Course
- Membership of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant NICU or Pediatrics nursing experience. Experience in both NICU and Pediatrics
- Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association
- PALS Provider Certification, required, Instructor status
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider, required Instructor status
- Experience as an educator
- This position is represented by ONA
- You may be required to work at any site of Mackenzie Health
