Project Manager, Nursing / Clinical Specialist

We seek a health care provider with an analytical and clinical background to join our team as a project manager: Applicants with a strong clinical background but without project management experience will be considered and trained.
- Understand the scope of work and be responsible and accountable for the overall delivery of Planning, Procurement and Commissioning phases for medical equipment planning projects, including planning, procurement, close-out, etc.
- Direct and oversee the work of the Assistant Project Manager team members for the delivery of projects;
- Develop and maintain working relationships with vendors, obtaining equipment specification details and budget as applicable;
- Attend and/or co-ordinate/participate in vendor demonstrations in-house, or showroom visits as applicable;
- Assist with the development of RFP documentation / language for AFP/P3 model of project delivery;
- Foster a positive team environment and provide necessary coaching/mentoring support
- Contribute to the development of our delivery processes, systems and tools.
In this fast-paced environment, the PM resource must meet multiple project deadlines and collaborate with all members of the EPA | Colliers team in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
The individual must demonstrate an impressive work portfolio, where they led medical equipment planning projects from beginning to end. What you'll get to do as a Project Manager, Nursing- Clinical projects:
- Apply your expertise to healthcare facility new build and redevelopment projects.
- Lead projects from beginning to end. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and manage project plans, resources, and schedules; evaluate medical facilities requirements and provide planning and options for client consideration;
- Communicate directly with end clients and users;
- Direct and guide activities to meet deliverables of the project both in-house and with client / project representatives;
- Coordinate with clinical and technical specialists and Assistant Project Managers to complete project requirements within the agreed schedule;
- Maintain proactive communication with the project in the management of activities and deliverables;
- Lead user groups through the requirements determination for department and room-by-room planning and selection of medical equipment;
- Oversee medical equipment inventory activities and recommend existing equipment for future transfer;
- Oversee the preparation and issue of deliverable reports for the client;
- Prepare and review medical equipment procurement and bid documents;
- Guide clients in the installation and commissioning of medical equipment;
- Attend/participate in client/project meetings as required;
- Provide reports re status/progress of assigned work including identification of risks and proposed solutions (if any);
- Prepare and conduct presentations
- Interact with vendors to obtain equipment information and pricing
- Update and maintain global and project databases
- Read / review design drawings for creation of project-specific databases and operational considerations based on equipment utility implication's;
- Prepare, maintain, and update project information in a timely manner;
- Participate in team meetings and attend client site meetings as required;
- Work independently and as part of a team in the absence of supervision
- Communicate with project stakeholders to answer questions, interpret data and explain requirements, regulations and procedures as applicable
- Listen to others and respond respectfully

- Deliver project cost estimates for inclusion in proposals, bids and project reports

- Provide support to proposal responses, including work-breakdown structures and time allocations, proposal narrative development, etc.
What you'll need to be successful at Colliers Project Leaders:
- Demonstrated clinical experience, with knowledge of medical equipment ;
- Experience in Design Build Finance and Maintain projects an asset
- Knowledge of the MOHLTC Capital Planning Process an asset
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience in one of the following areas:
o Operating room nursing
o Cardiovascular nursing
o Physiotherapy
o Pharmacy
o Medical Device Reprocessing
o Laboratory Services
o Diagnostic Imaging
- A combination of a Diploma and a minimum of 5 years' related experience in one of the above will be considered;
- Excellent time management and organization skills;
- Effectively influences others and successfully resolves a variety of client, project and technical issues;
- Significant knowledge in a diversity of medical equipment types and systems;
- In-depth understanding of healthcare organizations and their operational constraints;
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; and
- Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications.
