Kayla’s Children Centre

Kayla's Children Centre, a non-profit charitable organization, is looking to hire a full-time Registered Nurse (RN). Our mission is to provide high-quality, cutting-edge educational, therapeutic, and recreational programs for infants, children and teens with special needs, and to assist their families by offering support and respite.

The right candidate will have a strong work ethic and will be organized and efficient. They will also enjoy working as part of a goal-oriented and cohesive team in support of KCC's mission. As part of a collaborative support team, this individual will provide care to participants of our School, Camp, and Respite programs.

Your day as a RN at Kayla’s

You will provide direct, hands-on nursing care to children attending programs, some of whom are complex care patients. This will include administering medications, g-tube feeds, liaising with other members of the care team as well as participants’ families, and all documentation and administration inherent to the role. Additional administrative tasks will include developing policies that further add to the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care, and liaising on medical form development and organization or medical records.

How do I qualify?

You must have:

  • Currently registered with CNO
  • Valid CPR-C AED certificate
  • Flexibility and empathy in approach to working with people
  • Ability to respond calmly, quickly and with excellent judgement in unexpected circumstances
  • Strong interpersonal and administrative skills
  • Minimum two year of recent experience working with paediatrics, preferably in a complex care setting



What we are looking for:

  • Good oral, verbal and written communication skills - English is essential
  • Effectively deal with others including coworkers, participants and families
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to critically think and problem solve and to effectively organize workload
  • Ability to operate related equipment and to learn and adapt new software with ease
  • Understanding of professional accountability with provincial regulatory college
  • Is competent in the provision of skilled nursing services according to practice scope
  • Ability to self-recertify on expiration of both CPR/AED and Standard First Aid certificates
