We currently have a Regular Full-time opportunity for a Registered Nurse in the D5 - Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery. Tory Trauma Program at our Bayview campus.

Hours of Work:

Weekdays & Alternating Weekends as Required: Days, Nights; 12hrs; As per schedule

Statutory Holidays Required

Summary of Duties

Responsible for the primary care for neurosurgery, orthopaedic, plastics, and trauma patients, with an opportunity to work with patients with higher acuity care needs (Level 1). The main functions of the RN include, but are not limited to: assessment, intervention, interprofessional team collaboration, education and patient advocacy. The RN supports the philosophy of Person-Centred Care concepts and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Current Registration with CNO
  • Current B.C.L.S.
  • Sc.N. preferred
  • Surgical experience with skills in Pre-Op and Post-Op care and Patient/Family teaching
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment; able to manage multiple demands and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families and health care professionals
  • Excellent assessment skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Demonstrated commitment to Person-Centred Care approaches and principles
