The Nursing Director is an individual with strong clinical background and highly developed health care leadership skills. You will have oversight of the Program Managers and Nursing Supervisors and will be responsible for the ongoing development of the clinical teams. The Director serves as a link between staff and other clinical service areas and will work on various internal and external projects for Spectrum that will contribute towards the growth and development of the respective clinical areas, ensuring excellence in patient care.The Director participates in community activities and committees related to the improvement of Program services, demonstrates effective leadership, planning and project management skills combined with exceptional problem solving and change management abilities.Our people are the cornerstone of our business. Motivates, directs and coaches staff to ensure high quality of care consistently meets defined organizational standards.Collaborate with the Branch operational leadership team to plan for sustainable and exemplary operational practices. Addressing quality, safety and risk management issues, including the development of action plans to address shortfalls within the Nursing Program.Collect and assess key performance indicators for the program and initiate quality improvement/process and changes as requiredResponsible for leading all patient care reviews initiated by Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS) Lead program development and design of clinical workflows that support new models of care delivery for the target populations, in collaboration with the operational leadership team and system partnersDevelop educational initiatives and support the ongoing development of our nursing teams. Support the development of Best Practice Champions within the nursing team.Assumes accountability for human resource planning: recruitment, hiring, retention, initiatives/plans.Ensure compliance with all policies, guidelines, procedures and regulatory requirements.In support of organizational strategies and staff satisfaction initiatives, promotes the development of a motivated and cohesive team and supports educational strategies (orientation and continuing education) to enhance staff knowledge with respect to professional nursing practices and patient care.Positive and constructive staff feedback and review: ongoing and regular performance appraisal program.Ensures positive staff morale.Coaches and mentors - staff, students, individual and team.Conflict management and counseling (individual or team).Manages staff and administrative issues i.e. scheduling, vacations etc.Manages change and foster an environment which promotes personal accountability.Facilitates the development of staff to achieve advanced clinical practice standards.Other duties, as assignedQualificationsCurrent CNO registration as Registered Nurse (RN) in good standingBachelor of Science (Nursing) BSc(N)Minimum of 5 years of experience with progressive responsibilities as a Nursing Leader in a community service delivery settingExperience in effective union management relations Solid knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of community nursing and service deliveryValid driver's license and reliable vehicle#Peel_nurseAdditional InformationSpectrum Health Care is one of Ontario's leading and rapidly growing providers of home health and patient care services.
