Our client is an independent, accredited out of hospital Surgical Centre looking for an experienced OR Nurse to join their team as Surgical Resource Nurse. In this role, you will report directly to the OR Manager. To be considered for this position, you must have 5 or more years of experience working in operating rooms, perioperative nursing certification, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will report directly to the OR Manager. Schedule:
- The Surgical Resource Nurse will work Day Shift, three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), with potential to expand to a fourth day within the calendar year.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the education and training of both new and existing staff
- Develop and maintain surgical protocols for state-of-the-art, industry-leading technology
- Collaborate effectively with OR manager, surgeons, nurses, and support staff
- Manage the daily flow of the OR and communicate routinely with clinic administrative staff
- Prepare patients for surgery, provide patient education, build rapport, and establish relationships
- Ensure operating room is prepared with all necessary supplies and equipment
- Perform both scrub and circulating roles proficiently
- Monitor and assess patients during the surgical phase
- Complete and review charts according to clinic standards
- Manage unexpected changes and problem-solve proactively
- Understand equipment needs and manage equipment on a day-to-day basis
- Establish consistency in leadership of the nursing team and promote continuity of care
Requirements:
- BS or diploma in nursing
- Perioperative certification
- 5+ years of OR experience
- Interest in taking on leadership role as Charge Nurse/Resource Nurse
- Experience in aesthetics is an asset but not a necessity
- Comfortable charting electronically
